Essex County Civic Club was founded by a group of Christian women who believed in a better way of life. These women held the beliefs that womanhood and sisterhood were sustained and strengthened by their faith and unity.

The year 2020, marks the 110th Anniversary of Essex County Civic Club's existence. Much like our foremothers, the Federated Women of Essex County Civic Club continue to dedicate our time and services to our communities.

As we step into our 110th year, we celebrate with Federated Sisters across the country, the 124th Anniversary of our national organization: The National Association of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc.

And we look forward to building our membership and granting more educational awards to our young men and women.
